In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 3mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The engineered boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Mapei PVA wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the floor had been laid a combination of white primed quadrant and 22mm solid oak invisible lacquered flatplate was fixed to mask the expansion gap left for the floor to move throughout the seasons, whilst invisible lacquered oak radiator covers we’re fit to the base of pipework.
Brushed and invisible lacquered; the texture and neutral tone of the oak boards have bought an abundance of character to the living room of this beautiful family home.
