In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area (as well as achieve a height datum set by our client) a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 12mm plywood was used.
The engineered boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Mapei PVA wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the flooring had been laid white primed quadrant was fixed to the base of the skirting board’s to mask the expansion gap left for the floor to expand and contract throughout the seasons. Other finishing touches include fitting an integrated coir mat-well, oak radiator roses and oak door threshold’s.
Brushed and matt lacquered; the texture and colour of the oak boards have brought an abundance of character and colour to this beautiful family home.
