The parquet blocks have been fitted above a prepared concrete subfloor. In order to achieve the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge Mapei Latexplan Trade self levelling compound has been used. Prior to any levelling works the existing concrete subfloor was treated with Sika Primer MB.
Each block has been fitted tongue to groove whilst adhered to the concrete subfloor using Sika MS wood floor adhesive.
Once the flooring had been laid the expansion gap left around the perimeter was masked using white primed quadrant. Alternatively an Ice UV Oiled corner-bead was fit to the base of the bifold doors and an Ice UV Oiled coloured threshold was used to transition the wooden herringbone to hallway tiles.
