In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The engineered boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Whilst a combination of white primed skirting boards and 22mm solid oak flatplate will mask the expansion gap left for the floor to expand and contract, solid oak radiator roses have been fitted to the base of radiator pipework.
Brushed and grey matt lacquered; the texture and colour of the oak boards have bought an abundance of character and colour to this beautiful family home.
