In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The engineered boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the floor had been laid in the hallway a combination of white primed quadrant and 22mm solid oak lacquered flatplates were fixed to mask the expansion gap left for the floor to expand and contract, whilst solid oak lacquered thresholds were fitted to transition the hallway to joining rooms.
Brushed and matt lacquered; the texture and colour of the oak boards have bought an abundance of character and colour to this beautiful family home.
