To achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of 9mm, 6mm & 3mm plywood strips were screwed to the upper face of existing unlevel joists before 18mm plywood was installed to form a level subfloor.
The oak boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tounge to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the flooring installation was complete solid oak lacquered radiatorroses were fixed to mask the expansion gap left around the pipework for the flooring to expand and contract naturally, whilst skirting boards were later fixed around the flooring’s perimeter.
