In order to achieve the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge a combination of 9mm ply and Mapei Renovation self levelling compound has been used. To prevent impact sound travelling through to the flat below the Strata A50 Acoustic Underlay was bonded to the prepared subfloor.
Each block has been fitted tongue to groove whilst adhered to the Strata A50 Acoustic Underlay using Sikabond Wood Flooring Adhesive.
Once the flooring had been laid the expansion gap left around the perimeter was masked by skirting boards, whilst expansion against the kitchen end panels and the exterior door casing was masked using 22mm Gevrey coloured oak flat-plate.
Lastly, Gevrey coloured oak door threshold’s have been used to transition the parquet to the tiles and into the carpeted hallway.
