The parquet blocks have been fitted above a combination of 9mm plywood and Mapei Renovation self levelling compound in order to achieve the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge. Each block has been fitted tounge to groove whilst adhered to the subfloor using Bona R848T Adhesive.
Once the floor had been laid the expansion gap left around the perimeter of the stairs was masked using 22mm solid oak lacquered flatplate, whilst solid oak lacquered radiator roses were fixed to the base of the radiator pipework.
The job was complete with the fixing of a solid oak lacquered door profile used to transition the kitchen into the living room.
