In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area Mapei self levelling compound was used above the existing concrete subfloor. Once each patch of Mapei self levelling compound has fully cured Sika Primer MB Liquid DPM was applied to the subfloor to reduce the speed of rising moisture.
The flooring has been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tounge to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the flooring installation was complete a combination of white scotia and solid oak flatplate’s we’re fixed to the perimeter of the floor space to mask the expansion gap left for the flooring to expand and contract naturally.
The job was finalised with the fixings of solid oak radiator roses.
Smoked, brushed and handscraped; the Lalegno Graves engineered boards have bought an abundance of warmth and character to the modern interior.
