In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The engineered boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the flooring had been laid a combination of white primed quadrant (painted prior to fixing) and 22mm Latour coloured oak flatplates were fixed to the perimeter to mask the gap left for the flooring to expand and contract naturally, whilst Latour coloured radiator roses were also fitted.
For added protection the last step of the installation process was to apply an additional coat of oil, we opted for the Osmo Polyx Matt hardwax oil.
