In order to achieve the recommended subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area FBall Stopgap Levelling Compound was used.
The oak boards have been laid free floating above Duralay foil-back acoustic underlay with each board bonded tounge to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
To mask the expansion gap left around the perimeter of the floorspace for the flooring to expand and contract naturally white MDF scotia was used whilst solid oak flatplate’s were fixed to the perimeter of the fireplace and to where the flooring meets the back garden doors.
The job was finalised following the installation of solid oak door profiles to bridge the gap between joining rooms in addition to solid oak radiator roses.
