To achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The oak boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Lecol PVAC wood floor adhesive.
Once the flooring installation was complete a combination of white primed skirting boards and solid oak 22mm flatplates were fixed to the perimeter of the floor space to mask the expansion gap left for the floor to expand and contract naturally in addition to numerous solid lacquered oak radiator roses and door thresholds.
