To achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The oak boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Lecol PVAC wood floor adhesive.
Once the flooring installation was complete white primed quadrant was fixed to the perimeter of the floor space to mask the expansion gap left for the flooring to expand and contract naturally, whilst an oiled solid oak threshold was fitted to transition the bedroom to hall.
