The parquet blocks have been fitted above a combination of 18mm plywood and Mapei Renovation self levelling compound in order to achieve the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge.
Each block has been fitted tongue to groove whilst adhered to the subfloor using Sika MS wood floor adhesive.
The job was finalised with the fixings of 22mm solid oak lacquered flat-plates to mask the expansion gap left for the parquet to expand and contract where the flooring meets the bi-fold doors, whereas solid oak lacquered cornerbeads were fit to the perimeter of the fireplace.
