The parquet blocks have been fitted above a combination of 18mm plywood and Mapei Renovation self levelling compound in order to achieve the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge.
Each block has been fitted tongue to groove whilst adhered to the subfloor using Sika MS wood floor adhesive.
Once the floor had been laid the expansion gap left around the perimeter of the floor was masked using solid oak skirting boards and 22mm solid oak lacquered flatplates, whilst solid oak lacquered door bars were fitted to transition rooms to the tiled hallway.
