The parquet blocks have been fitted above a combined subfloor of 6mm plywood & Mapei Latexplan Trade levelling compound to meet the height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge. Each block has been fitted tounge to groove whilst adhered to the subfloor using Sika T54 Parquet Adhesive.
Once the entire floor had been laid the blocks were sanded on site whilst any noticeable gaps were filled using Lecol 7500.
The parquet blocks were sealed on site using a prime coat of Bona Mega Matt Lacquer before two coats of Bona Traffic HD Matt Lacquer.
The installation was complete once solid oak flatplate’s had been fixed to mask the expansion gap left around the perimeter of the fireplace and the BiFold doors for the flooring to expand and contract naturally.
