The first step of achieving our customers goal was to sand the boards with an old sanding disc to expose all the nails, tacks and staples sitting amongst the surface of the pine floorboards before punching the metals through/removing them by hand.
Once all nails, tacks and staples had been punched through/removed we sanded the mucky and battered floorboards back to bare using a 34 grit sandpaper before working our way through the sanding grits to finish on a 120 grit.
Once the floor was at a 120 grit we applied one coat of Bona Mega Silkmatt lacquer and left it over night.
The final day involved buffing the pine boards with a buffing machine to suppress the raised grain before applying two further coats of Bona Mega Silkmatt lacquer.
