The first step of achieving our customers goal was to sand off the existing 15 year old lacquered factory finish and get back to bare wood using 34 grit sandpapers, removing all indents, scratches and stains to the planks in the process.
We then hit the floor with a 60 and 80 grit before mixing sawdust from the oak boards with Lecol 5500 filler to fill any gaps in-between planks present across the entire floorspace. We left this overnight to cure.
The floor was sanded the next day on an 80 and 120 grit before the first coat of Bona Traffic HD Raw was applied and left to cure overnight.
The final day involved buffing the raised grain of the oak planks before applying two further coats of Bona Traffic HD Raw.
