On uplift of the carpet five finger parquet flooring was exposed, this was removed with some rows left to help aid with setting a required height for subfloor levelling. These rows were subsequently removed and the gaps in filled using Mapei Levelling Compound to achieve the required subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge.
The flooring has been laid free floating above Duralay foil-back acoustic underlay with each board bonded tounge to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the flooring installation was complete skirting boards were fixed to mask the expansion gap left for the flooring to expand and contract naturally.
