In order to achieve the subfloor height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm over a 3m area a combination of Mapei Renovation self levelling compound and 5.5mm plywood was used.
The engineered boards have been laid free floating above Duralay acoustic underlay with each board bonded tongue to groove using Lecol PVAC wooden flooring adhesive.
Once the floor had been laid 27.5mm solid walnut flatplate was fitted to the perimeter to mask the expansion gap left for the walnut boards to expand and contract naturally.
Rich in colour; the depth of the walnut boards have bought an abundance of character and warmth to this beautiful family home.
