The sub-floor throughout this kitchen/diner was prepared using Mapei Self Levelling Compound to achieve the recommended height deviation tolerance of +/- 2mm under a 3m straight edge. Each block has been fitted tounge to groove whilst adhered to the subfloor using Sika 54 Parquet Adhesive.
Prior to the fields installation a parquet spine was left to adhere to the subfloor to provide a fixed line to work off from.
Once the entire floor had been laid the blocks were hand sanded on site to a 120 grit finish with any visible gaps filled using Lecol 7500 filler before a solid oak flatplate was fixed to mask the expansion gap left where the flooring meets the patio doors.
The installation was complete following a coat of Bona Prime before three top coats of Bona Traffic HD Matt lacquer.
